Q: How does the Offerpal Media platform work?

A: Using Offerpal Media’s "Managed Offer Platform," social publishers can reward their users with virtual currency for taking part in targeted ad offers or by paying directly with their credit card, mobile phone or other payment options. Q: What social networks is Offerpal Media on?

A: We’re on all the top social networks - Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, hi5, Friendster, Tagged, Perfspot, Orkut, Xanga, Piczo and others, including all OpenSocial publishers. Plus we operate on social destinations including virtual worlds, social gaming sites and vertical social networks such as Aeria Games, IMVU and WeeWorld.

Q: How do I get started?

A: Simply visit our onboarding application at http://onboard.offerpalmedia.com and walk through the four steps:
  1. Enter your contact and payment information
  2. Enter your application or web site information
  3. Configure and test your callback server URL
  4. Drop-in a snippet of HTML code and go live!

The whole process should take about 30 minutes or less.

Q: Do I need to have virtual currency?

A: Yes, our offers and payment options are tied to your virtual economy. It’s what motivates your users to take part. Virtual currency is easy to integrate into your application and allows you to offer premium content or services such as virtual goods, virtual gifts and in-game bonuses that are only available with enough "points," "coins," "bucks" or whatever you want to call them. Q: How often does Offerpal pay its publishers?

A: We pay our publishers twice a month - on the 1st and the 15th - on Net 15 terms, meaning that you will receive a check on the first of the month (or a few days later if you’ve selected to receive payment by a mailed check), for the 1st through the 15th from the month before. Please note that holidays and weekends may affect the timing of payment delivery.

Q: What payment methods does Offerpal support?

A: You can choose to receive your payment by PayPal, check or direct deposit.

Q: How can I change my payment options?

A: To change your payment option, simply login to your account through the onboarding application, click the "Edit Info" tab then "Payment Info" box. Select your new payment option and click "Update." Please note that we will also need you to submit a W9 form before we can issue payment.

Q: Is there a minimum payment threshold?

A: Yes, the minimum payout is $250.

Q: What currency are the payments paid out in?

A: U.S. Dollars

Q: How do you protect against fraud?

A: Offerpal Media has invested significant resources and money to develop our Fraud Detection and Management technology. We use a multi-method approach, including various data-mining, algorithms, and heuristics, to identify fraudulent behavior and users. This ensures high lead quality for our advertisers, and in turn translates to higher advertiser fees and revenues that we pass on to you. It also reduces the amount of chargeback handling with direct payment options such as PayPal and mobile payment providers.

A: We offer a variety of advertising formats, starting with our core product, the managed offer I-Frame, which includes all of our 2,000+ offers optimized for maximum conversions. Q: Why doesn’t the number of "points" I’ve given out match the revenues I’ve received?

A: There are a couple of reasons this could happen. One is that cash payments are paid out on the gross amount, not the net, so that when an end-user purchases virtual currency using PayPal, credit card or other direct payment options, a small percentage of the total transaction is withheld to cover processing fees. Also, in some cases our customer service team will issue virtual currency in order to keep the end-user happy even when we aren’t paid by the advertisers, as could happen if a pixel misfires but the end-user shows valid proof of having completed an offer.

Q: Can I control the offers that get displayed?

A: Yes, you can exclude certain offers or payment options from appearing within your I-Frame. Just contact us to let us know which ones. However, the Offerpal platform is built to optimize the revenue you earn by presenting the most effective offers to your end-users, so if you opt out of offers it may affect your earnings potential.

Q: Do you have international offers?

A: Yes, we have hundreds of popular offers in more than 50 countries spanning the entire globe, so you can be sure that your international traffic monetizes just as well as your U.S.-based traffic.

Q: Can I integrate my mobile application with your platform?

A: Yes, we’re currently support integration with applications on the Apple iPhone, and soon we’ll be on other mobile platforms as well.
